How to Work Efficiently as a Team in Multilogin

In the updated Multilogin platform, browser profiles and Android cloud phones are available within the same workspace. Each team member should be invited using their own email address instead of receiving the workspace owner’s login credentials. After accepting the invitation, the member is assigned one of four predefined roles and, where applicable, access to specific folders.

Key Role and Permission Features

• Owner:

  Has full control over the subscription, team members, folders, and profiles. Only the Owner can assign the Manager role to another user and export profiles.

• Manager:

  Can create, edit, and launch profiles, manage folders, and add or remove Operators and Starters. The main limitation is that Managers automatically receive access to every folder in the workspace. Their access cannot be restricted to a single folder or client.

• Operator:

  Works only with assigned folders but has relatively broad permissions within them. Operators can create, edit, and launch profiles, add notes, move profiles between folders, delete profiles, and restore them from the trash. This role is intended for trusted team members who genuinely need to modify profile settings.

• Starter:

  Can view and launch profiles only in assigned folders but cannot edit their settings or manage folders, notes, or the trash. This is the safest role for account farmers, media buyers, and other team members who receive fully configured profiles.

Multilogin does not allow you to build custom permission sets from individual controls: the platform provides predefined roles only. If a team member needs permission to launch a profile but should not be allowed to change its proxy, fingerprint, or other settings, Starter is the best choice. Operators can edit profiles, so this role should not be treated as restricted access to profile configuration.

Folder-Based Profile Access

Operators and Starters receive access at the folder level. Every browser profile placed in a folder assigned to a team member becomes available to that person within the limits of their role. The current role system does not allow you to share one profile inside a folder while keeping the other profiles in that same folder hidden.

Browser profiles and cloud phones use separate folder systems. Although both are managed through the same Multilogin interface, access settings assigned to a browser profile folder do not carry over to mobile profiles.

Recommended Team Structure

1. Do not share the Owner account with employees.

   Add each member through Team → Invite and assign them an individual role. This allows you to revoke access quickly when a team member leaves or a project ends.

2. Create a “00 — Setup” folder.

   The Owner can use this folder to prepare profiles by connecting proxies, importing cookies, installing extensions, and checking browser fingerprints. Keep in mind that assigned Managers will also see this folder because their access cannot be restricted.

3. Separate profiles by client, campaign, or team member.

   For example: Facebook — Client A — Igor or Google Ads — Client B — Alexey. If team members should not see one another’s accounts, assign each person a separate folder.

4. Assign Starter to most team members.

   The employee receives a ready-to-use environment and can launch the profile without accidentally changing its proxy or fingerprint or deleting the account. Assign the Operator role only to team members who need to configure profiles themselves.

5. Use cloud storage only.

   When creating a team profile, select Cloud as the storage type. Only cloud profiles are synchronized between computers and made available to other team members. A local profile remains tied to the device on which it was created.

6. Track workflow status with tags and notes.

   Useful statuses include Ready, In Progress, Needs Review, and Paused. Owners and Managers can manage tags, Operators can add or remove them from profiles, and Starters can only view them.

7. Do not launch the same profile on multiple computers simultaneously.

   Team members can work with different profiles in parallel, but the same profile should be used by only one person at a time. After completing the task, the team member should stop the profile so its cloud session data can synchronize correctly.

In practice, the safest workflow is straightforward: the Owner or Manager configures a cloud profile, moves it to the team member’s dedicated folder, and assigns that person the Starter role. Operator should be used only when independent profile configuration is required, while Manager should be reserved for team leads who genuinely need access to every client and folder.

Which Role Should You Assign to a Regular Team Member?

If a team member receives fully configured profiles and only needs to launch them for daily work, Starter is the best choice. This role prevents the user from changing proxies, fingerprints, notes, or folders and from deleting profiles.

The Operator role is intended for team members who need to create and configure profiles independently, change proxy settings, work with tags, and move profiles between available folders. Assign Manager only to a team lead because Managers automatically receive access to every folder in the workspace.

Can Two Team Members Work in the Same Profile Simultaneously?

A team can run different profiles at the same time, but each browser profile supports only one active session. If the profile is already open on another computer, Multilogin blocks a second launch.

If a session becomes stuck or was not closed correctly, the profile can be force-unlocked and opened on another device. However, doing this while the first team member is still working is not recommended because a forced session takeover may cause synchronization conflicts or the loss of recent changes. Before handing a profile over to another member, the first user should stop it correctly and wait for the cloud data to be saved.
